Looking for the best place to stay in Palm Springs? After a complete renovation in 2019 and then a shut down due to COVID in 2020, the Renaissance Esmeralda is finally back…and better than ever! The Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa is centrally located in the heart of the Coachella Valley, between Palm Desert and La Quinta within the prestigious community of Indian Wells.

Andrew and I love the desert and were thrilled to spend 3 days at the Renaissance Esmeralda. Only a 2 hour drive from LA, Orange County and San Diego, it’s the perfect weekend getaway spot. The resort features spacious and beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, ranging from 420 to 2879 square feet, all with balconies and breathtaking views of the Santa Rosa Mountains, pool or golf course. Each rooms features a host of luxurious amenities including lush terrycloth robes, 300 thread-count sheets, marble vanity with double sinks, LCD television, and Keurig coffee maker.
The Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa boasts activities for every member of the family, from adventure seekers to those wishing to relax. The swimming pool is the largest in the desert and features a sandy beach, circular bar and private poolside cabanas. The fitness center features state of the art equipment, including Peloton bikes. The resort is surrounded by two 18-hole golf courses. Discounts are available to resort guests through the purchase of golf packages.
San Andreas Fault Red Jeep Tour Tahquitz Canyon Trail
For those seeking adventure off the property, nearby activities include the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Living Desert Zoo & Garden, Canyon Jeep Tours, hiking & biking trails, hot air balloon rides, Salvation Mountain, Bombay Beach, and Joshua Tree National Park.
Breakfast at CAVA Poolside cocktails and fruit
The resort dining offers on-site restaurants that feature fresh and locally grown ingredients with seasonal menus. CAVA is located adjacent to the swimming pool and offers breakfast with outdoor seating and views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The Place Lobby Bar, located in the heart of the resort, offers specialty beverages and light bites. Café Biscotti is the resort’s coffee bar serving Royal Cup coffee, yummy pastries and breakfast sandwiches, as well as grab-and-go lunch items and snacks. The H2O Pool Bar serves cocktails and light fare. They have a variety of signature drinks like the frozen Arnold Palmer, perfect for cooling down in the desert.

Spa Esmeralda is a 13,000-square-foot full-service spa that combines intimacy, serenity and wellness. The spa features 11 indoor treatment rooms, 8 treatment cabanas, 1 indoor couple’s suite, men’s and women’s steam rooms & lounges, as well as a co-ed garden courtyard with a plunge pool. Spa treatments include single and couples’ massages, body scrubs, and facials. Agim Salon, located within the Spa, offers haircuts and styling as well as nail care.

If you’re looking for the perfect weekend getaway, I highly recommend a trip to the desert. And you’re looking for the best place to stay in Palm Springs and the surrounding area, I highly recommend the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa.
