Las Vegas, Nevada is definitely a different experience these days. With COVID restrictions in place, nightclubs, shows, and festivals still remain off limits. But there is still plenty to do in Las Vegas, especially if you venture off the strip. Here are my recommendations for the top 5 things to do off the strip in Las Vegas.
- 1. Take a walk through a giant picture book at The Neon Museum
The Neon Museum packs a lot of Vegas history into one place. It is dedicated to the collection and preservation of old neon signs from casinos and other Las Vegas businesses. Daily tours are available from 3pm-11pm.
2. Work on your swing at Top Golf

Whether you’re an avid golfer or have never even picked up a golf club, you are sure to have fun at Top Golf. With 120 climate-controlled hitting bays on 4 levels, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening. And in between hitting balls, you can sip on a cocktail on your private couch while taking in the view of the Las Vegas skyline.
3. Go vintage shopping and craft beer tasting in the Arts District
About 5 miles north of the Strip, the Downtown Arts District is one of the fastest growing areas of Las Vegas, thanks to its craft beer scene, trendy restaurants, and thrift shops.
4. Explore Freemont Street

Located in Downtown Las Vegas, Fremont Street is an ideal spot if you are looking for bright lights, people watching, and a party atmosphere. With popular attractions like the Slotzilla zipline and expansive high-def Viva Vision video canopy, the Freemont Street Experience remains a top Las Vegas tourist destination.
5. Visit the Seven Magic Mountains

Located 20 minutes south of the Las Vegas Strip is the very colorful Seven Magic Mountains art installation. Comprised of seven towers of neon-colored, stacked boulders standing more than thirty feet high, Seven Magic Mountains provides a unique photo opportunity. And if you are into unique art installations, be sure to check out my post on Bombay Beach: a bizarre art installation on the Salton Sea.
Las Vegas is an incredibly diverse destination, with something for everyone. Next time you visit, take some time to visit these top 5 things to do off the Strip and let me know what you think!
