Santa Barbara is one of my favorite beach-side towns. Only a 2 hour drive from Orange County, it’s the perfect weekend getaway. And let’s be honest…when I’m looking for a place to stay, I tend to ask myself, is it Instagram-worthy? Well, let me tell you, The Goodland hits the mark. Located 10 minutes north of Santa Barbara in the town of Goleta, the Kimpton Goodland is a bohemian oasis and one of the coolest boutique hotels I have stayed at in California.
The property retains a retro vibe while still offering modern amenities. The rooms are simple, yet stylish and comfortable. And the best part, each one is equipped with it’s own record player. You can browse and borrow vinyl from the cute record shop in the lobby.
During the day, you can lounge by the pool, take a yoga class, borrow a bicycle to head down to the beach, or take a 10-minute drive down the 101 to downtown Santa Barbara. In the evenings, be sure to hit up social hour in the lobby from 5-6pm to mingle and enjoy complimentary wine and apps. Then head over to the onsite restaurant, Outpost, for delicious upscale coastal fare. The fried cauliflower is to die for! And you can end your evening at the spirited Good Bar. It’s the perfect spot to sip on a cocktail while listening to good music and playing a game of pool or backgammon.
Our experience at The Goodland was nothing short of wonderful and we can’t wait to go back!
