Ever since our trip to Bali a few years ago, where my luggage was lost and never found, I always try to pack everything in a carry-on. And as someone who has a tendency to over pack, this can be a bit challenging. There are a few tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way that makes cramming everything into a single carry-on much simpler.
Tip 1 – Invest in a high quality carry-on with several compartments and pocketsMy favorite carry-on is this one from Andiamo Luggage. It’s the perfect size, has several storage compartments and pockets, and has a convenient USB port.
Tip 2 – Fold your clothes using the Konmari MethodBy utilizing the Konmari Method, you will save room in your luggage while being able to see everything you’ve packed at a glance. Be sure to fold with the logo/printed side face down.
Tip 3 – Stack and Stuff your hats
Hats are the hardest thing to pack. Start by stacking them one on top of the other. Then stuff the bottom hat with swimsuits or under garments. This will save room while also helping keep the hat’s shape.
Tip 4 – Use clear plastic bags for your toiletries and cosmetics
By using clear bags, you will be able to easily see what you’ve packed while protecting your clothes from any leaking bottles. Separate your liquids into a single bag for easy access when going through airport security.
Hope these tips are helpful on your next trip. Feel free to share any others you use. Happy Packing!
