Wine tasting with a giraffe? YES PLEASE!
I’ve known about Malibu Wine Safari for a little while now and have been dying to go. Andrew and I finally decided to take a little road trip up to Malibu to check it out.
Malibu Wine Safari is located off Mulholland Hwy in the Malibu hills. There are several tour options available. We opted for the “Giraffe Tour” since giraffes are my all time favorite, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet Stanley. The tours fill up quickly on the weekends so make sure to plan several months in advance. If you can visit during the week, I highly recommend it.
At check in, we were given an orange and black wrist band and told to wait until they called our color. There is a gift store where you can purchase wine, snacks and apparel while you wait.
After about 30 minutes, our color was called and we boarded the open air safari jeep to begin the tour.
We made several stops along the tour, including two for wine tasting. We were poured 3 whites and 3 reds. The wines were pretty decent. My favorite was the 2016 Saddlerock Rosé.
We also made several stops to feed the animals. We saw yaks, llamas, water buffalo, zebras, camels, and of course my favorite…Stanley the giraffe!
The tour lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes and was worth every penny. If you plan to be in the Los Angeles area, it’s a must visit and don’t forget your camera! ☺

I don’t see giraffe tour, just explorer tour. Is it the same?
It was a different tour when we visited. Unfortunately I think they may not be offering that tour right now.
